The Solio Hybrid charger is an attempt to provide a universal charger for numerous handheld devices, in a compact and environmentally friendly fashion. The term "hybrid" refers to the unit's dual sources of power: it can be plugged into a wall socket or it can utilize an efficient set of solar panels. Most solar charges are large units that are inconveniet for taking with you, not the Solio. It's compact design opens like a handheld fan to reveal the solar panels, so it all fits in a pocket-sized unit for convenience. To aid in compatibility, it uses the iGo charging system (standard on many portable personal electronics), and also includes a USB port (for chargin iPods, digital cameras, and anything that can charge this way). The solar system and battery are highly efficient, with an hour of sunshine giving up to 20 minutes of phone talk time or 30 minutes of mp3 music. A fully charged Solio can charge most phones to capacity twice, or give up to 20 hours of playing on an mp3 player.
